This program is geared toward those students who want to learn Spanish at a reasonable pace. It takes four weeks with 4 hours of classes a day including 3 classes of general Spanish followed by one hour of Medical Spanish. The material covered will depend on the level of the student. Different methods of teaching will be implemented according to the specific needs of the students, including audio lingual, audio visual, magisterial, immersion and communication systems. Each student will be provided with a grammar and vocabulary textbook. In the afternoon students will have time to discover San José, do some Spanish exercises or practice what they have learned in school by doing an internship.
The students will obtain a list of basic vocabulary and a pamphlet containing dialogue and expressions used in the medical profession. The dialogue portion will represent a patient / doctor relationship and include acquiring a patient´s medical history, medications taken, aliments, symptoms etc., besides including the specific anatomical terminology.

Also, homestay can be provided with this option for $140 a week, including weekly laundry and daily breakfast and dinner. Besides we offer volunteering options in clinics or hospitals around the area for $100 of administrative fee.
